Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia

A Reason to Hope.  The Means to Cope.

Public Policy

"Stated most simply, public policy is the sum of government activities, whether acting directly or through agents, as it has an influence on the life of citizens."

                                                                                                   B. Guy Peters

The Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia’s voice must be heard by all those agencies and government departments that initiate change in the treatment and care of individuals living with schizophrenia and psychosis.

Through cooperation with the Mental Health Commission of Canada, the Schizophrenia Society of Canada, the Federation of Schizophrenia Societies, local Chapters, related organizations, and with individuals, the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia will participate in improving treatment and health care programs generally, and will advocate for increased support to families, supporters, friends, and co-workers who are providing assistance to individuals living with schizophrenia and psychosis.
